OKRs I worked on this week:

  • Prepare for and do an internship

  • Learn from challenging feedback

“Prepare for and do an internship”

After scheduling the internship interview for Zendesk, I spent most of my effort preparing for that. Despite spending time coming up with possible interview answers and practicing answering them, I also took my time to learn about Zendesk's company culture and its services. One strategy I am going for to answer their interview question is to make the connection between my skill set and their service content. By doing that, I can show them I am exactly the candidate they are looking for. Besides Zendesk, I am still waiting for a response from Lucid

“Learn from challenging feedback”

Just to make sure I do not panic during the interview, I prepared a lot of notes and talking points in advance. I then let my native-speaker colleagues review and revise my notes. With their help, I edited out many redundant and ineffective words from my notes and made my speech more professional. Overall, I've made a lot of progress in preparing for the interview thanks to my colleagues' feedback.

As for next week, I plan to spend more time applying for internships since I have not been sending out as many applications as before I got my interviews. On the other hand, with the mid-term approaching, I need to manage my time wisely to balance my work life and mental health, at the same time, keeping up with the internship application process.
