“Grow my professional networks”

This week I got to develop my professional network even bigger. I connected with several CCA alumni who came to our professional practice class. Among them, I was able to let Rachel review my portfolio and have a chat with Ron (little did I know, the chat with Ron was going to change my whole summer). I also scheduled another ADP List meeting with one of the mentors. In the end, I was able to build a connection with my mentor on LinkedIn.


“Prepare for and do an internship”

Exciting news, I just got an internship, it’s an intern position at Walmart Global Tech. Thanks to CCA aluminum Ronald Alunan’s referral. I was able to have an interview with the company’s product design team and present my work. Throughout the interview, I was able to confidently talk about my strengths and interests and I built a great conversation with the interviewers (who were also CCA alumni).


“Confidently talk about my strengths”

I’ve never gone to an interview that required me to present my case study, so I had to work under pressure to prepare a slide deck about my favorite project - Chengdu Laid-back Map. Thanks to Pecha Kucha, I already have an outline for how I want to reveal my design process. I was able to talk about the reasoning behind each design decision I made along the way.
